April started working out, running, and sprinting in high school with the track and volleyball teams, building a foundation for lifelong fitness. Her education in college started in a Physical Therapy program then transitioned into a degree in Exercise Science from Illinois College, where she studied Biology, Psychology, and Nutrition — all knowledge that has guided her career in health and wellness.
She went on to compete nationally as a bikini competitor and published fitness model for over a decade, training intensely throughout that time and following the extreme methods common in the fitness industry—high animal protein, low carbohydrate, and heavy supplementation. While she looked healthy, she was struggling internally with severe gut issues, chronic inflammation, adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid, high cholesterol, high cortisol, and anxiety.
Determined to heal, April went on to study nutrition for preventing & reversing chronic disease at Cornell University, integrating this knowledge with her exercise science background and decades of nutrition and personal training experience. This approach restored her health, healed her gut, and gave her more energy and vitality than ever before.
She learned that what you eat shapes your gut microbiome: colorful, antioxidant-rich plant foods—vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds—feed the beneficial microbes that protect cells and reduce inflammation, while meat, dairy, poultry, eggs, and fish promote a toxic gut environment that breeds chronic disease.
Every meal truly is an opportunity to heal your body, mind, and gut.
As a fitness and nutrition specialist, April guides clients through a personalized system that builds muscle and bone density, reduces body fat, heals the gut, balances hormones, and stabilizes the nervous system using evidence-based strength training and whole-food, plant-based nutrition.
This approach is designed for people who want real physical transformation without sacrificing long-term health. By regulating blood sugar, inflammation, gut-brain signaling, and stress hormones, the body is able to recover, grow lean muscle, release excess fat, and protect itself against chronic disease.
Every program is built around your physiology, history, and goals, creating a training and nutrition strategy that supports strength, mobility, metabolic health, and emotional resilience at the same time.
